Our Story

From the Bride’s Perspective

It all began with a text. Mike’s friend (and groomsman), Frank, decided to introduce us. Frank got to know me pretty well as a constant fixture in his home at wine nights thrown by his wife, Stephanie (also a bridesmaid). Stephanie passed my number along, Mike texted, and then we hit it off (with the exception of the “Do you golf?” question, which was met with “Mini golf? Yes.”).

We went on our first date on April 6, 2021 at Spoonwood Brewery in Bethel Park and the rest is history.

It will be five wonderful years by the date of our wedding and I’m so happy to have found my person. We’ve gone on many adventures together, including to Scotland, Washington DC, and a tiny cabin in the woods in Ohio after two months of dating….special thanks to friends and family who didn’t question my decision to run off into the woods with someone I just met. I shared my location, it’s all good.

I’m excited for our special day and also for the many years ahead with the love of my life. Mike is the kindest, most loving, and most supportive partner I could ever imagine and I’m thankful every day that I answered that text.

I also did end up taking golf lessons and buying clubs, for the record. And Mike has gone to many plays and musicals with me as well. I don’t think I’ll ever get him on stage, but it’s still a win.

From the Groom's Perspective

Like Erin said, it all started with a text and we owe it to our dear friends Frank and Steph for getting the ball rolling, but I'd say we did a pretty good job on our own of taking it from there and making things our own!

After a few dates at breweries and going to see cover bands, it was obvious to me that things were going well and a few dates turned to meeting friends and family, who all gave their approval and blessing unanimously. It once was said to me that I "outkicked my coverage" and I "better not screw this up" and I'd like to think I haven't yet! He wasn't the one who said it, but I know without a doubt that my dad would be thrilled that this is happening if he were able to be here still.

Meeting friends and family turned to small adventures and eventually turned to big adventures and I couldn't be more excited to be planning the biggest adventure of all with my best friend, getting married and marking the beginning of the next chapter of our lives together. While our lives are action-packed and seemingly always on the move, I love our time we share together from weekend dinner date nights at home to her tolerating my dumb jokes and my wild work schedule. She is a saint.

Almost four years later and counting (will be five come time for the wedding), I am always amazed by Erin's ability to be the most caring when it comes to others. It's very endearing. It's already shining through so much as part of the planning process for the wedding. I also love that she has learned to love country music and I think she may enjoy country concerts as much as I do, or she's just good at acting (we all know this to be true whether part of the country concert equation or not!)

We're very excited to be able to have our big day next spring with all of our friends, family, and coworkers from all over as we celebrate spending the rest of Forever together After All.

(P.S., I think she did beat me at mini golf once, but she also made a huge birdie putt for us when we golfed together on a little staycation at Ohiopyle. Goals.)
